Sugaring: The Not So New Way To Wax

What is sugaring? Sugaring is a method of hair removal that uses a paste made of 3 ingredients: sugar, water, and lemon juice- it’s actually edible not that we recommend taking a bite. The paste is applied with a gloved hand opposite of the direction on the hair growth and then removed in the direction that your hair is growing. Due to is innately organic makeup and the fact that is can be used at room temperature sugaring is a great option for men and women who have very sensitive skin and are normally reactive to skincare products and heat.

What services are available with sugaring? Any! Sugaring can be used for unwanted hair removal from head to toe. Like waxing the hair you want removed with sugaring needs to be at least ¼ of an inch or longer before you can have the hair removed. As for aftercare just like with waxing you should maintain a regular aftercare routine of exfoliation, and the application of an aftercare serum like our Smooth Operator. By caring for your skin after your waxing or sugaring appointment you will avoid ingrown hairs and prepare yourself for your next wax or sugaring appointment.

Is sugaring better than waxing? That’s really up to you. Both waxing and sugaring are highly effective forms of hair removal with minimal pain involved. At the end of the day it’s all about your preference. You won’t really know what you like best until you try.
